Katy Eckland

Katy trained at Laine Theatre Arts, graduating in 2009 with a National Diploma in Professional Musical Theatre.

Following her studies, Katy has gone to tour all over the world. Shows that she has toured with include Soul Sister (UK Tour), The World of Musicals (Germany and China Tours, as Dance Captain), The Magic of Motown (Netherlands, Algeria and UK Tour), Soul Legends (UK Tour), Aladdin (UK Tour), Cinders (UK Tour).

Choreography credits include Tina: The Rock Legend and Celtic Nights; both of which toured extensively in Germany.

 

Katy was honoured to sing at the 2013 Olivier Awards with Soul Sister, performing with the BBC Concert Orchestra to a packed Royal Opera House in Covent Garden, broadcast both on ITV and live on BBC Radio 2.

Recording credits include singing Backing Vocals for two Mister Maker and The Shapes tours; Hong Kong/Australia and the UK.

 

Katy has performed at numerous corporate events across London. She sings with busy Function Bands; Jukebox, The Funk Soul Brothers, Supertight, SoulBeat, Platinum Motown, Sega and the BoomBox, Headline, Quest DJ Live, and Soul Train with ALR, Vital Signs, Rednote DJ Live, Next Level Music, and Hand Fulla Soul with whom she has performed at the world famous Abbey Road Studios. Further to this, she sings with Urban Voices Collective and has sung with the West End Gospel Choir; highlights include singing at ‘West End Live’ in Trafalgar Square, London Community Gospel Choir; performing at ‘The Brit Awards’ in January 2018 with Justin Timberlake.

Katy was also a Deputy in Whitney Queen of the Night, UK and European Tour as understudy Whitney Houston and a backing Vocalist.

This year in July Katy was hand picked by Mark Deliser to be in his choir for VJ Day filmed for BBC1.

 

A passionate educator, Katy has held the Head of Singing position at Stagecoach, Letchworth and Theatre Train, Sutton. During the Summer of 2016, her choir performed as part of the National Stagecoach Performance at The Prince Edward Theatre in London’s West-End.
